I remember the days of old; I meditate on all that you have done; I ponder the work of your hands. I stretch out my hands for you; my soul thirsts for you like a parched land. Selah.
Psalm 143:5-6 (ESV)
Bible Reading Comments:
Want to know the way out from a place of darkness and discouragement? Remember the days of old … remind your soul of all that God has done already. Go back to the scriptures and review His hand on history. Go back through your own life and remember the times when He was real and near and doing wonderful things. The truth is, He is still there, your just in a place of needing to thirst a bit more to find him. It is a time of going deeper. May we, like David thirst for God like a parched land … and may we, like David, “hear in the morning” of God’s steadfast love.
Prayer:
Father God, for every person who may be struggling with a dark or difficult place, would you remind each one of your goodness, and would you draw each one to thirst after YOU! Protect us all from seeking other places of satisfaction, and may we be filled and satisfied by You and by Your grace and goodness. I ask in Jesus’ name, Amen.
